It\u2019s about helping people really <strong>get it<\/strong> \u2014 that wonderful \u201cah-ha\u201d moment when everything finally makes sense.<\/p><p>Music can be heard, of course \u2014 but it\u2019s not always easy to <em>see<\/em> or <em>grasp<\/em>.<br \/>You can hear an interval, but that doesn\u2019t mean you understand what makes it tick.<br \/>You can play a scale on an instrument, but truly understanding how it works \u2014 that\u2019s another story.<\/p><p>That\u2019s where my <strong>learning materials<\/strong> come in.<br \/>They turn the invisible into something you can actually work with \u2014 something you can <em>see<\/em>, <em>feel<\/em>, and finally <em>understand<\/em>.<br \/>They\u2019re designed to make musical ideas clearer and more tangible, no matter what instrument (or voice!) you use.<br \/>Especially for singers, who rely mostly on their ears, these tools help to recognize structures, see intervals, and follow melodies in a physical, intuitive way.<\/p><p>All of this grew out of real classroom experience \u2014 from teaching music theory and ear training at the <strong>Landesmusikakademie NRW<\/strong> and the <strong>Folkwang University of the Arts<\/strong>, and from my daily life as a music teacher at the <strong>Leibniz Comprehensive School<\/strong> in Duisburg-Hamborn.<\/p><p>Over the years I\u2019ve seen where learners struggle to make sense of music \u2014<br \/>and I\u2019ve tried to create tools that connect the head, the eyes, and the hands (and sometimes even the feet!).<\/p><blockquote style=\"border-left: 4px solid #ccc;padding-left: 1em;margin: 1em 0;font-style: italic;color: #444\"><p>\u201cI would have understood so much more \u2014 if only someone had explained it properly.\u201d<\/p><p><strong>That thought has guided my teaching ever since.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote><p>Out of that mindset, I\u2019ve developed a range of materials and video tutorials \u2014 all designed to show that music isn\u2019t just something you play. My pieces are meant to sound sophisticated while feeling natural. Every voice deserves its own beautiful line, one that\u2019s rewarding to sing. Complexity, to me, doesn\u2019t come from difficulty but from vitality: voices intertwining, touching, breathing together. That\u2019s how music arises that connects people \u2014 something you don\u2019t just hear, but truly experience.<\/p><p>All my compositions and arrangements grow out of real-life choir practice. I write for real singers with real voices \u2014 for people who sing with joy. My sheet music is published through the <strong>GNGP-Verlag<\/strong>, where I release and engrave my own <strong>songbooks, CDs<\/strong>, and <strong>individual scores<\/strong> (formerly with Sibelius, now with Dorico).<\/p><p>\ud83c\udfb6 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gngp-verlag.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Visit the GNGP-Verlag \u2013 Songbooks, CDs, and individual editions<\/a><\/p><p>How it all started: As a teenager, I sang with <strong>TenSing at the YMCA Bremen<\/strong> \u2014 that\u2019s where I first had the chance to lead a choir and write my own songs. One of them even won third prize at the 1992 competition <em>\u201cStudents Compose\u201d<\/em> run by the Sparkasse Bremen.<\/p><p>Later I studied <strong>classical composition<\/strong> with <strong>Prof. Nic. A. Huber<\/strong> at the <strong>Folkwang University of the Arts<\/strong> in Essen. Together with pianist <strong>Christian Nagel<\/strong>, I founded the <strong>Good News Gospel Project<\/strong> in 1999 \u2014 a choir project that toured every autumn.
